Saturday, April 26th, 11am to 12.30pm OR 5 to 6.30pm

Looking for a win-win, meaningful and fun activity to participate in Earth month?

Create a moss ball (kokedama), the art of bonsai without a container! 15% of the workshop fee will go Crag Law Center as their Earth Day Oregon business partner.

This workshop is a wonderful way to celebrate our Mother Earth by connecting with our native plants and community, getting tactile with our hands and feeling empowered to become the stewards for our habitat in the urban landscape!

In this workshop, you’ll create your own unique moss ball while learning about the beauty and crucial role of native plants for our habitat especially in the urban landscape. Creative tactile meets connection with nature from a meaningful and ecological way.

  • Minimum age is 15

  • There’s only 7 spots per workshop session

  • Please sign up by end of day Tuesday, April 22nd so I can prepare the quantity for supplies/material

  • You can choose either native plants (covered outdoor area) or tropical plants (indoor) when you sign up

Your workshop fee includes:

  • All materials/supplies: organic soil, bonsai mix, native or tropical plants, preserved sheet moss, strings/cord, a hand ceramic mushroom, and a bird decoration (additional decoration is available for purchase)

  • A gift bag for easy transport and perfect for gifting

  • A print out of information about gardening with native plants, resources/tips of local sustainability/ecological organizations and a list of native plant nurseries

Green or herbal tea and light Japanese snacks will be provided, please bring your own mug if you’d like.

Bring your friend, just purchase another ticket! The first one to sign up with a friend will take home a surprise gift!

No refund for cancellations 3 days before the workshop date (only store credit).
